What fits in a 10ft vs 20ft container?

Our Salford site offers two container sizes:

10ft container (around 80 sq ft) — roughly half a garage. It holds the contents of a one-bedroom flat: a sofa, bed, white goods and around 20–30 boxes. Ideal for smaller households, or for stashing furniture while you decorate. From £25/week.

20ft container (around 160 sq ft) — a full-size unit that swallows the contents of a typical 2–3 bedroom house: full furniture sets, appliances and 40+ boxes. This is the size most home movers choose. From £40/week.

How it works: storage in 3 steps

1. Message or call us on +44 7375 063637. Tell us what you’re storing and roughly how long. We’re open 7 days, 9am–9pm.
2. We allocate your container at our Salford site (21 Cheltenham Street, M6 6WY). Every unit is covered by 24/7 CCTV monitoring.
3. Move your belongings in. Bring them yourself or with your removals team — we work alongside trusted local movers including JCT 20 Removals — then access your container any day between 9am and 9pm.

Flexible weekly and monthly terms mean you can store for three weeks or three months — whatever your move demands.

5 tips for storing between moves

1. Pack an essentials box — kettle, chargers, important documents, bedding and a change of clothes. Load it last so it’s the first thing you grab.
2. Label every box on two sides. You’ll thank yourself when you’re hunting for the box with the TV remote at 10pm.
3. Dismantle what you can. Beds, wardrobes and tables take up half the space flat-packed. Keep screws in labelled bags taped to the furniture.
4. Protect soft furnishings. Mattress and sofa covers are cheap; replacing a stained mattress isn’t. Read our guide to keeping belongings dry in a storage container before you load up.
5. Load heavy at the bottom, fragile on top — and leave a small walkway so you can reach things without unpacking everything.
